What is Flamingos in Training?
. . . An exercise program for anyone over 50.
Flamingos have great balance and so can you!How we move, stand, and sit affects our balance. So in order to move without pain, we work on strengthening weak muscle groups and stretching tight ones. We also practice challenging our balance, coordination and reaction.
. . . An exercise program for people living with Parkinson's disease.
I currently teach classes in the Fairfax/Chantilly area; both land and pool classes. The pool is private, indoors, warm (90 degrees F) and 3-4 feet deep. For more information about these classes, please contact me.. . . Seminars on why falls happen and how to prevent them.
Depending on the audience these can be either more informative or more interactive. In the interactive seminars people get to try some of the activities we do in the exercise class. Suitable for residents in independent retirement communities and community groups.. . . In-service training for caregivers – both family and professionals.
There are a number of ways caregivers can help keep people on their feet, too. This program is similar to the seminars, but with information that the participants can use to help the people they care for.For more information on attending or offering any of the above, please contact Sonia.
